In Republic Square, Ir-Reġina Viktorja faces the National Library from a central place in Malta. The white marble figure sits calmly beneath the open sky. Sicilian sculptor Giuseppe Valenti created the work in 1891 to mark Queen Victoria’s golden jubilee.
