Groepsschuilplaats type P Fort De Bilt is a military shelter at Fort De Bilt in Utrecht. Thick reinforced-concrete walls protected groups of soldiers during artillery attacks. The partly underground structure belongs to the Hollandse Waterlinies, a defensive system built around Utrecht.

Fort De Bilt took shape between 1816 and 1824, after Willem I ordered an eastern defensive ring for Utrecht in 1815. The system used sluices and shallow flooding to make land too deep for walking and too shallow for boats. Later forts, including Fort Vechten, Fort Rijnauwen, Fort Voordorp and Fort Ruigenhoek, strengthened the ring between 1867 and 1870.

Green spaces now surround the fortifications, with walking and cycling routes passing bunkers, forts and sluices. The concrete shelter shows how military engineering joined Dutch water management and the Utrecht landscape. Imagine soldiers waiting behind those heavy walls while artillery fire passed overhead.
