Tiergarten Ulm is a zoological facility in Ulm, Germany, with wheelchair-accessible features. Its recorded setting includes an aquarium, aviaries, and enclosures for several animals. A tropical house, free-flight aviary, and outdoor monkey enclosures joined these earlier features over time. The tropical house opened during Ulm’s 1980 State Garden Show.

The facility began in 1935 with a monkey enclosure and bird aviaries. The Second World War closed it in 1944. A fire destroyed the aquarium and terrarium facility in 1961, but a new aquarium house reopened there in 1966. Later development added Bennett’s wallabies, rheas, alpacas, parrots, budgerigars, macaws, and a new bear enclosure.

The zoo school provides thematic programmes for students and supports the site’s educational role. It also became a training facility in 2003. The aquarium extension opened in February 2008, using the nearby Danube as its central theme. Through a Plexiglas tunnel, you can see native freshwater fish in a man-made Danube basin.
