Fort Söflinger Turm (Werk XXXIII) stands in Ulm as a small tower fort within the historic Ulm Fortress. Its walls, dry moat, and central reduit create a compact defensive layout. Built between 1855 and 1856, it served as an outer post for the Kienlesbergbastion. Up to 65 soldiers could occupy the fort.

Lieutenant Faber du Faur supervised construction against troops advancing from the Blautal and near the railway line. The masonry reduit and gorge contrast with the embanked wall. Modernisation from 1878 left that wall’s original profile intact, while workers removed the visible stair tower in 1899. After deterioration following the Second World War, restoration work in the early 1980s brought the site back into shape. The dry moat and unchanged wall still reveal how nineteenth-century defences combined earth and masonry.
