The Goldbacher Stollen des ehemaligen KZ Überlingen is an underground tunnel system in Überlingen beside Lake Constance. Molasse rock forms the walls of this underground site.

Prisoners from Dachau concentration camp were forced to excavate the tunnels for armaments production. The planned armaments factories never moved into the tunnels. The work involved drilling, blasting and removing loosened rock with carts and small diesel locomotives. The tunnel network remained unfinished before production began.

The site records the prisoners’ deaths and the violence of forced labour. A documentation centre occupies the tunnels. Its exhibitions examine construction, the companies involved, the prisoners’ lives and the Nazi regime’s wider history. Guided tours explain this history within the tunnels.

The surrounding area includes a memorial at the former Überlingen-Aufkirch camp and a memorial stone in Degenhardt Forest. Cold passages and uneven ground shape the visit. The former camp at Aufkirch connects the tunnels with Überlingen’s wartime history. A memorial in upper Bahnhofstraße extends the site’s history into the city.
