Klosterkirche preserves the eastern end, crossing, and choir of a former Cistercian monastery church. The church began rising in 1283 beside a Cistercian monastery.

Its surviving stonework shows late Romanesque forms alongside Gothic details, reflecting changes across the church’s long history. An octagonal tower marks the crossing with a pierced spire.

Added between 1407 and 1409, the tower introduced a distinctive feature to the restrained Cistercian church. Hand-rung bells remain within the tower’s stone structure.

After the Reformation in 1535, builders dismantled much of the nave for construction at a nearby castle. A large tree shades the place where the nave once stood.

The choir retains damaged medieval frescoes, including a protective Madonna and other devotional images. Fragments of fourteenth-century stained glass and heraldic shields survive there.

Conrad Wagner’s late-sixteenth-century pulpit carries intricate carved reliefs. An organ stands on the south gallery, adding another visible trace of the building’s musical history.

Klosterkirche records worship, loss, and adaptation in stone, wood, glass, and surviving architectural fragments. The architectural site is recorded as wheelchair accessible.
