Kroken kirke presents a fan-shaped plan within a simple brick volume, with a square bell tower beside the southwest entrance. Its exposed brick catches the changing northern light.

The building translates a competition-winning idea from 1997 into a church completed in 2005 for shared worship and gathering. Warm timber softens the interior alongside exposed brick.

Seating fans toward the altar, while carefully placed windows spread daylight across the pews and chapel-like corners. Tor Lindrupsen’s altar wall anchors the visual front.

A lift connects the main church with a dedicated space below for the Nordenfjelske Deaf Congregation. The two churches share offices and care facilities.

Music shapes the room through Ryde & Berg’s organ, whose warm labial stops and bright reeds support congregational, solo and ensemble playing. Its sound joins the gathered voices in worship.

Kroken kirke brings brick, timber, light and sound together in spaces designed for communal and intimate use. The square bell tower marks its southwest entrance.
