The Maria-Hilf-Kapelle stands beneath trees as a small Neogothic chapel beside weathered sandstone stations of the Cross. Joseph Schalkenbach funded its construction in 1868 as an act of devotion. Luxembourg architect Karl Arendt prepared the plans, while builder A. Bayer and stonemason Werding shaped its walls and portal. Light sandstone forms the portal’s distinctive stepped frame. Above the entrance, a statue of Mary holds the child and a sceptre. Inside, ribbed vaults cover the devotional space, while Heinrich Diekmann’s 1949 painting of Mary hangs on a wall. The remains of Blessed Peter Friedhofen rest beneath the altar. He founded the Brothers of Mercy of Mary Help of Christians.

Outside, seven sandstone steles carry terracotta reliefs representing the seven sorrows of Mary along the approach. Local restoration has preserved these stations for visitors. The chapel serves remembrance, prayer and pilgrimage, while local care continues around its sandstone stations. Its altar and 1949 painting anchor the interior.
