Casa Ernő Neuhaus stands in Timișoara’s protected Corso urban ensemble and holds historic monument status. László Székely designed the building, which was completed in 1911. Its Secession facade uses projecting volumes, bay windows, loggias, and geometric decoration. Two bay windows rise across three storeys and connect through loggias on every level. A large polygonal pediment crowns the composition with eight segments. Stone-like details, flower boxes, a flag holder, and cornices refine the exterior. Combed plaster covers broad areas of the facade beside carefully formed geometric details. Inside, a plain access passage contrasts with the stairwell’s historic lift and geometric elements. Details beneath the staircase add another small feature to the interior. Ernő Neuhausz commissioned the house after working as an editor and property developer in Timișoara. The building later became known as the Färber Building after its acquisition by a local factory-owning family. That family operated the United Varnish and Paint Factory, later renamed Azur after nationalization. The house serves restaurants, shops, and a supermarket within its rectangular structure. Restoration work in 2022 returned some original ground-floor shop windows to the facade. Its architecture connects commercial use with Timișoara’s publishing, property, and industrial history.
