Lukaskirche stands in Stuttgart’s Ostheim district, within the larger Stuttgart-Ost area. Its Neo-Gothic form follows a cross-shaped plan with buttresses, a nave, a choir and northern apses. The southern façade rises to a 61-metre tower, framed by stair towers and topped with an octagonal slate-covered spire.

Louis Stahl designed the church, built between 1898 and 1899, and wartime damage led to reconstruction from 1948 to 1951. Helmuth Uhrig created the stained-glass windows, while Friedrich Weigle built the organ, which has 3,000 pipes and 35 registers. Five bells occupy the tower, cast by Kurtz between 1898 and 1953. The interior holds around 700 people and hosts worship, concerts and community events.

Clock faces sit in the gables above the sound arcades, adding a clear detail to the tower’s silhouette.
