Gaisburger Kirche rises on a hill in Stuttgart’s Gaisburg district as an Evangelical church and protected monument. Its cube-shaped tower and oval dome make the building visible above the surrounding suburb. An elliptical central structure stands behind a rectangular forecourt, combining late Art Nouveau, Neoclassicism, and Neo-Baroque.

Martin Elsaesser designed the church, built between 1911 and 1913 as Gaisburg grew beyond its wine-growing village origins. The site reaches back to the twelfth century. Monks from Hirsau Monastery established a Saint Barbara chapel there, while the later church replaced an older building. Sixteenth-century statues and a baptismal font remain from that predecessor.

Inside, a light interior carries Käte Schaller-Härlin’s monumental Art Nouveau mural, tracing creation through Easter among floral motifs. Fourteen Ionic columns support the oval dome. Moses, King David, and the Apostle Paul adorn the entrance. Friedrich Weigle’s 1913 organ has undergone restoration to preserve its original sound.
