Feuerbacher Heide is a park-like green space in Stuttgart’s northern district, with meadows, gardens, and a broad open setting. Sheep graze its meadows during the changing seasons.

The area lies on the northern slope of the district’s highest elevation, where the Bismarck Tower overlooks Stuttgart from Gähkopf. The Gähkopf reaches 409 metres above sea level.

The green space extends from Doggenburg and Feuerbacher Heide street westwards to the TC Weissenhof tennis grounds in the east. Am Kräherwald road borders it to the north.

In the northeast, it joins Killesberg and the Höhenpark Killesberg through Stuttgart’s Green U. The Kräherwald forest lies beyond that northern road.

The landscape protection area covers 21.3 hectares across western and unwooded northern sections, designated in 1961. Earlier names included Frauenberger Heide and Hundsmaul.

Around 1480, Feuerbach, Cannstatt, and Stuttgart disputed grazing rights near Frauenberg Castle until settlement in 1649. The disputes concerned municipal boundaries and pasture access.

The site became an execution ground after the previous location moved from Hauptstätter Tor in 1811. Christiane Ruthardt was beheaded here in 1845.

Villa Kahn, the former Villa Levi, and Villa Porsche bring named residential architecture into the landscape. Paul Bonatz designed Villa Porsche with Fritz Scholer.
