The Bernhardskirche stands in Stuttgart-Rohracker, within the Hedelfingen area of Baden-Württemberg. It remains a protected cultural monument in Stuttgart.

Construction began in 1447 and created a late Gothic hall church with one nave, choir, sacristy, and west tower. The choir carries a star vault above its polygonal plan.

In 1604, the tower gained a wooden bell storey beneath a hipped roof and clock faces. Three bells remain part of the tower.

Inside, the flat nave ceiling contrasts with the star-vaulted choir and cross-vaulted sacristy. The sacristy has four carved head consoles.

They represent a child, an adult, an old man, and death, while the choir keystones show Mary and Bernard. A 1692 altar cross remains in the choir.

A round stained-glass window above the south entrance depicts Michael as a dragon slayer, following a 1934 design. The church has a fifteen-register organ from 1969.

Its garden contains a lime tree said to date from around 1870, beside the former cemetery enclosure. Vineyards connect the church with Rohracker’s setting between forest and the Neckar valley.

The old village centre gathers around the church, wine press, and historic houses. The Bernhardskirche therefore preserves architecture, religious history, and village life in one setting.
