The Église Protestante is a wheelchair-accessible architectural site with roots in a Protestant community dating to 1339. A foundation stone at the entrance preserves that early beginning.

The congregation adopted the Reformation in 1524, becoming the area’s oldest independent parish outside the city centre. Pink sandstone gives the present church its distinctive warm exterior.

The current building replaced the original after centuries, following designs by city architect Jean Geoffroy Conrath. Inside, a rectangular hall has side galleries.

Painted railings display Strasbourg’s arms, while the central pulpit reflects Calvinist influence within this Lutheran building. Colourful stained glass shows Christ’s baptism and resurrection.

Countess Mélanie Renouard de Bussière donated the windows in 1910, adding vivid scenes above the spacious interior. The protected historic Stiehr-Mockers organ dates from 1866.

Its pipes and mechanism remain protected as a historic monument, linking the church’s music with its architectural fabric. Community life still gathers around these historic walls.
