Alexander von Humboldt is a German sailing ship whose maritime history connects Bremen with the North and Baltic Seas. The vessel began as the lightship Reserve Sonderburg.

AG Weser built it in Bremen, where the ship served the North and Baltic Seas as a lightship. Motorwerke Bremerhaven later converted the vessel into a three-masted barque. The conversion gave the vessel the name Alexander von Humboldt and its three-masted barque form. Its green paint and sails recalled Rickmers vessels. The crew affectionately called the vessel Alex during its years as a sail training ship and flagship. Deutsche Stiftung Sail Training operated it at sea.

During its sailing career, it joined tall ships' races and winter cruises to the Canary Islands. One expedition traced Humboldt's route to the Caribbean and rounded Cape Horn. Later, Caribbean charter work replaced its sail training role. It returned to Europe and became a hotel and restaurant. Workers removed its masts and rigging so the vessel could pass beneath bridges on the way to Bremen's waterfront. At Bremen's Schlachte, the ship combines accommodation and dining with maritime history.
