Many later worked in the wine trade, while the population fell to 23 residents by 1933. Nazi persecution and economic boycotts destroyed the community. After the community dissolved in 1938, the synagogue became storage space and suffered damage during the November pogrom. Nine people who lived here in 1933 were later deported. None of those nine people survived deportation.
