Helix Bridge crosses Marina Bay in Singapore, linking Marina Centre with Marina South as a pedestrian route. Its 285-metre span forms a left-handed double helix, drawing its shape from DNA.

Duplex stainless steel creates the permanent structure, while 1,000 tonnes of carbon steel helped form the temporary construction. Three 65-metre spans and two 45-metre end spans carry four viewing platforms, with fritted-glass canopies and perforated steel mesh offering shade along the inner spiral. Local youths’ artwork turns parts of the walkway into an outdoor gallery.

After dark, lights trace the twisting frame and illuminate paired C, G, A and T letters in red and green. Four platforms face Singapore’s skyline and Marina Bay, making the bridge a clear vantage point for fireworks during National Day celebrations.
