Fullerton Building stands at the mouth of the Singapore River in Singapore. Its neoclassical façade faces a historic harbour and trade route. Five frontages frame a colossal, two-storey Doric colonnade above reinforced-concrete walls. The structure presents a formal landmark beside the river.

The site once held Fort Fullerton, completed in 1825 to protect the harbour and trade. Colonial authorities demolished the fort in 1865. Construction began in February 1924, and the building opened on 27 June 1928. The General Post Office occupied the basement and first floor, while upper levels held the Singapore Club, Chamber of Commerce, Marine Office, and government departments.

During the Second World War, the building served as a hospital for wounded British soldiers. Government offices returned after the war, while postal services remained until the 1990s. Conversion into a hotel took place between 1997 and 2000. The former post office now operates as the Fullerton Hotel and remains a national monument. Its five-sided plan and towering Doric columns preserve the building’s clearest visual memory.
