Deshmoret e 2 Prillit is a memorial square in Albania, named for the martyrs of a democratic protest. Its ground recalls a gathering that demanded freedom. In 1991, thousands assembled there to challenge the final days of the communist regime and demand political change. Security forces answered with gunfire, killing four young men.

Arben Broci, Bujar Bishanaku, Nazmi Kryeziu, and Besnik Ceka became martyrs after their deaths during the demonstration. Their names remain attached to democracy and the price of freedom. Photographs show protesters storming the ruling party headquarters, throwing documents outside, tearing some apart, and burning others. The courtyard held the torn and burned papers. The shooting turned this central square into a place of mourning and remembrance.

Flowers mark the four victims in public memory. People gather annually to lay flowers, linking 2 April with the lives lost during Albania’s democratic struggle. The date 2 April anchors remembrance at this square.
