Palacio Arzobispal stands in Seville’s Plaza Virgen de los Reyes, opposite the Giralda and beside Seville Cathedral. Its red façade carries white pilasters, iron awnings, and large balconies.

The Spanish Baroque palace traces its origins to the mid-thirteenth century and has served Seville’s bishops and archbishops. Mannerist courtyards surround a sixteenth-century fountain.

Expansions shaped the palace over centuries, while an eighteenth-century campaign added a portal with vases, bronze flowers, plant motifs, and escutcheons. Its entrance displays arches and small marble columns.

Inside, a broad coloured-marble staircase leads past murals attributed to Juan de Espinal, while frescoed ceilings mark the Main Hall and Prelate Gallery. Antonio Mohedano supplied natural motifs, including birds, flowers, and fruit.

The palace preserves paintings and sculptures associated with Spanish Baroque artists, alongside works from Italian and Dutch Baroque schools. Its library contains ecclesiastical works and archival documents connected with Seville’s archdiocese.

The building became a National Monument in 1969 and reflects Seville’s religious and artistic history. The Santa Cruz setting places the palace among narrow streets, historic architecture, and the city’s cathedral quarter.
