In Germany, St. Josef rises as a gabled hall with a side nave and a sturdy bell tower. Its beginnings grew from parishioners who wanted a nearby place for worship. In 1931, a church-building association transformed an old farmhouse site into a new sacred space. The former farmhouse tower first housed a priest, then carried the church bells.

The church opened in July 1932, then expanded westward in 1956 as the neighbourhood grew. Architect Friedrich Haindl added a choir and sacristy, creating the form visible today. Painted walls, restored woodwork and the wooden figure of Saint Joseph shape the interior. The statue once stood at the altar and now watches from the right-hand wall.

An organ from another local church arrived here in the 1950s and was rebuilt for its new home. Three bells from different generations hang overhead, including one cast in 1899. Future Pope Benedict XVI once served as a priest here, adding a remarkable thread to the church’s local history.
