St. Albertus Magnus is a church in Germany, built for a new neighbourhood and nearby military community. Its west-facing design uses clean lines and warm wood. A slender, freestanding bell tower rises beside the building, reaching forty-five metres beneath a bronze cross. The nave holds 850 people beneath a distinctive wooden ceiling.

Architect Karl Schmid designed the building during the early 1960s, giving its spacious interior a clear modern character. A 175-square-metre stained-glass band brings daylight around the upper walls. Franz Nagel designed the windows, which local glassmakers crafted for the church. Above the altar, Walter Zacharias’s four-metre Cosmic Christ displays brass and enamel in a bold focal image. Below it, a twelve-ton granite altar from the Fichtelgebirge holds relics of three saints. Fourteen Stations of the Cross windows colour the side aisles. Josef Erhart’s statue of Saint Albertus Magnus watches over the nave. A fire damaged the roof, but determined firefighting efforts saved the building.
