Villa Vorberg stands in Potsdam’s Babelsberg district as a neoclassical house within the Neubabelsberg villa colony. Johanna Vorberg commissioned the villa in 1904.

Its restrained neobaroque ornament appears most clearly in decorative details beneath the eaves. The building entered the monument list in 2007.

Margarete Vorberg later lived there as a painter, craftswoman, and teacher at a Potsdam girls’ school. Her floral stained-glass windows remain partly preserved.

The Kexel family has owned Villa Vorberg since 2009 and carried out careful restoration work. That work renewed the original pine staircase.

It also integrated the heating system into the walls while retaining the garden’s historical layout. The grounds preserve an early twentieth-century residential idea.

Together with neighbouring gardens, the villa’s grounds form a park-like refuge shaped by homes oriented towards their gardens. The setting connects architecture with landscape.
