The Jubiläumsterrasse sits in Sanssouci Park, Potsdam, directly below the Orangery Palace. Kaiser Wilhelm II commissioned the terrace in 1913.

The commission marked the twenty-fifth anniversary of his accession and joined the terrace to the Orangerieschloss ensemble. An artificial grotto forms the terrace’s central feature. Its cave-like walls surround a small lake and water features within a broad, vaulted space. Green arches open the grotto towards the water.

From there, the view reaches across the water towards Neues Stück, a named garden landscape. The landscape continues into the Friderizian garden. Historical architecture and greenery create a continuous transition between Neues Stück and the Friderizian garden. The Orangery Palace frames the historic terrace.

Sanssouci Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for gardens and palatial structures. Frederick the Great envisioned peace and beauty there. Careful maintenance protects the historical significance of the surrounding landscapes. The terrace brings history, art, and nature together through its grotto, water, and gardens.
