Noviciat des Dominicains stands in Paris beside the Saint-Thomas-d’Aquin church, enclosing courtyards and former convent buildings. The Dominican novitiate began under Françoise de Saliné. Built in successive phases, the complex includes the former cloister, the Sébastopol courtyard, and the Treuille de Beaulieu courtyard. The Gribeauval courtyard lies along its eastern side.

Dominican builders raised the convent between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, while Pierre Bullet designed the chapel completed as Saint-Thomas-d’Aquin church. An infirmary pavilion followed in the eighteenth century. After the French Revolution, the former religious buildings became an army arms factory, then housed artillery laboratories, metallurgy workshops, and forges. Obsolete weapons later filled the former cloister. Sciences Po Paris restored and expanded the property as a campus, while the north-wing staircase gained historical-monument protection. The south staircase remains under restoration within the supplementary inventory.
