Église Saint-Jacques-du-Haut-Pas stands in Paris as a Roman Catholic parish church, combining Gothic structure with classical architectural details. A single tower rises above a façade whose portal rests between classical columns. A monastery chapel built in 1360 by the Italian Order of the Holy Ghost began the site’s religious history.

The present church was completed in 1685. Jansenist austerity shaped the interior, where paintings and colourful stained-glass windows accompany the restrained decoration. Jean du Vergier de Hauranne lies in a tomb here. During the French Revolution, the church closed and lost its valuables before reopening among the few Catholic churches permitted in Paris in 1793.

Giovanni Domenico Cassini and Édouard Branly both belonged to the church’s circle of notable figures. The organ, first installed in 1628, underwent several restorations before the present version was inaugurated in 1971. Paris recognised the church as a historical monument in 1957.
