Can Catlar is a historic noble house in Palma, Spain, where Gothic, Renaissance and Rococo elements meet. Its sixteenth-century Renaissance façade divides into three sections around an asymmetrical stone entrance. Rectangular windows on the main floor carry medallions showing Fortitude, Prudence, Piety, Charity and Temperance.

The Lloscos family, barons of Bunyolí, owned the house until 1486, when Pere Descatlar i de Santa Coloma acquired it. From the eighteenth century, Descatlar descendants held the title of marquises of Palmer. An irregular Gothic courtyard centres on an octagonal column supporting two round arches. Inside, a vestibule has lowered arches and a wooden coffered ceiling, while adjoining rooms feature Renaissance grotesques and garlands. Rococo decoration covers wooden beams, and a later main staircase altered the courtyard’s shape.

A library once held a valuable archive, including a handwritten letter from King Alfonso the Magnanimous. Tapestries, furniture, antiques and paintings by Guillem Mesquida and Vicent López also belonged to the house. In 1973, Can Catlar became a Historic-Artistic Monument, and its old paving stones still ground the courtyard’s layered history.
