Ladegården is a baroque manor house in Oslo, Norway, with a high hipped roof and symmetrical ground plan. Karen Toller built the present house in 1725. Its salons preserve interiors from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, giving the rooms a carefully retained historical character. A medieval hall survives in the cellar below.

The manor stands on the site of the Old Bishop’s Palace, whose origins reach back to the thirteenth century. Ship supplies once passed through the area for Akershus fortress. After Oslo’s 1624 city fire, the grounds served as a supply farm before becoming private property and later a cultural venue. The government expropriated the estate for railway purposes in 1894.

The reconstructed garden follows a 1779 pattern, while Bishop Nikolas’ Chapel recalls another room from the medieval palace. The City of Oslo received the property in 1956. Museum displays and classical concerts connect the preserved architecture with Oslo’s history from the Middle Ages onward.
