St. Johannes Baptist stands in the centre of Goßmannsdorf, a district of Ochsenfurt, as a Catholic parish church. Its main hall, chancel and east tower combine medieval, post-Gothic and later architectural forms. The tower retains upper levels from the early seventeenth century, while the nave took shape after a major rebuilding.

A flood in May 1795 damaged the earlier building, with water reaching about two and a half metres inside. Construction began in June 1797. The tower remained, the foundation rose higher, and the roof stood complete by the following year. Inside, Johann Peter Wagner created the high altar and pulpit in 1798. John the Baptist stands between Peter and Paul above the altar, while the pulpit carries their busts, an angel’s head and Moses with the tablets of the law. Side altars from the former Tückelhausen monastery church arrived in 1803, joining a late Gothic sculpture group from around 1460 and a baptismal font made by Hans Rappolt in 1589.

Four bells hang in the tower, including the Vitus bell from 1801.
