Ruine Schloss Oberbürg stands in Nuremberg as the remains of a former baroque manor house. Its fifteenth-century origins began with a timber-framed structure built on a solid foundation.

The square complex grew into a stone residence with a high main building, several towers, and a surrounding moat. Defensive walls and gate structures still trace parts of that fortified design. Early sixteenth-century renovations turned the estate into a more imposing residence. By the seventeenth century, Austrian emigrants and other members of the nobility gathered here socially. Bombing in 1943 heavily damaged the buildings, leaving the surviving walls and economic structures among the ruins.

Greenery now covers much of the site, framing the gate remains and fragments of the former estate. The quiet setting holds a clear contrast between the vanished residence and the stonework still visible.
