L'Oulivié is a steel olive tree sculpture by Nice artist Laurent Bosio, standing on a concrete base. It stands at Place du Palais de Justice.

The artwork replaces a former fountain and gives the historic square a clear visual centre. Its olive-tree form connects steel with Nice’s Mediterranean identity.

The sculpture also carries associations of peace, prosperity, and reconciliation within the old town. New benches and lighting frame L'Oulivié and make the square more welcoming after dark.

Reorganised parking for two-wheelers and delivery vehicles supports a more pedestrian-friendly setting around the artwork. The wider renewal project also addresses traffic, congestion, and the use of public space.

Residents, merchants, neighbourhood associations, and city officials shaped the improvements around this historic square together. Local merchants selected Bosio to create the artwork for this setting.

L'Oulivié therefore links a contemporary sculpture with the daily life of Nice’s old town. The steel tree gives the Place du Palais de Justice a Mediterranean landmark and a place for people to pause. Here, art, public space, and community life meet around one of Nice’s recognisable historic squares.
