Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate stands on a busy square in Nice’s old town, with Baroque walls and a bell tower rising beside them. Its Latin-cross plan follows the model of Santa Susanna in Rome and faces east.

Construction of the present cathedral began in 1650 after Bishop Didier Palletis judged the earlier church too small, and the building was consecrated in 1699. A Genoese-style cupola covered with coloured tiles crowns the crossing, while the west façade gained its Baroque Revival form between 1825 and 1830. Ten chapels line the interior, including those dedicated to Saint Reparata, Saint Joseph and the Crucifixion, and three organs occupy separate parts of the building.

The high altar displays the Glory of Saint Reparata, whose relics have rested here since 1690. The church became a national monument in 1906 and a minor basilica in 1949, while continuing as the seat of the Diocese of Nice.
