Röstschmiede is a coffee roastery and café in a former blacksmith’s workshop at the heart of Neu-Ulm. Small coffee batches are roasted several times each week. The old workshop opens onto a courtyard, where drinks emerge from a Slayer espresso machine.

Marius and Chantal founded the business, and both hold the Specialty Coffee Association’s Barista Skills Professional certificate. They roast gently, including coffee made to personal orders. Choose the house blend “1903” or rotating coffees, then find filter versions prepared by hand in a HARIO V60. Every coffee drink can also come in a decaffeinated version. Daily changing homemade cakes, avocado or tomato bread with cream cheese, and Austrian Florentines add something to eat.

The coffee shop also sells roasts, accessories and gift vouchers for taking home. A vending machine stands outside the main entrance. Even when the café closes, it holds freshly roasted beans, milk and more. Dogs are welcome, and Florentines come directly from Austria.
