The Oktoberfest attack memorial stands at the Theresienwiese in Munich, where the bombing occurred. It commemorates the victims of that bombing.

Bavarian sculptor Friedrich Koller designed the memorial, which first consisted of a bronze stele. The original bronze stele carries the victims’ names. The attack struck the Oktoberfest entrance, and Munich remembers its victims through this memorial.

The memorial received a major redesign in 2008. A perforated, semicircular steel wall now stands behind the stele, representing injuries caused by the attack. The perforated wall rises 2.7 metres behind it. The stele stands within a circle marked into the ground, measuring 6.10 metres across. The marked ground circle frames the bronze stele.

The site preserves a difficult chapter in Munich’s history. Commemorative ceremonies here include wreath laying and speeches from survivors and city officials, linking the memorial with public remembrance. Wheelchair access forms part of this memorial site.
