# Parco Monluè

Parco Monluè is a green park in eastern Milan, surrounding the rural village of Monluè. The Lambro River and eastern ring road frame its setting.

Its landscape combines broad meadows, poplar rows, groves, and trees including American maple, catalpa, and black poplar. The park also contains rows of cypress poplars.

Monluè traces its history to the thirteenth century, when the Humiliati of Santa Maria di Brera founded the village. The settlement began as a monastic farm.

In 1571, San Carlo Borromeo dissolved the order, but the area continued as an agricultural centre. The original grangia had a central courtyard.

Agricultural buildings, ancient mills, and San Lorenzo Church preserve details of that rural past. San Lorenzo Church has Romanesque-Gothic features.

Meadows and trees create space for walks, picnics, and quiet outdoor pauses within Milan.
