St. Agatha stands on a hill at the eastern edge of Dickenreishausen, a district of Memmingen, overlooking the Buxach Valley. The evangelical Lutheran parish church combines a late Gothic choir with an eighteenth-century nave. Round-arched windows, simple pilasters and a western porch shape its exterior.

The church first appears in an indulgence letter from 1468, while its tower probably dates from the same period. In 1752, Heinrich Steiner replaced the old nave, preserved the choir and introduced Baroque elements. The four-storey tower retained its saddle roof, bells and upper sound windows throughout the reconstruction.

Inside, a neo-Gothic altar from 1898 stands beneath ceiling paintings created by Christian Bär in 1895. Curved stucco frames, shellwork and cherub heads surround the Nazarene-style paintings above the nave and choir. Three coats of arms above the chancel arch carry the Memmingen, Unterhospital and parish emblems with a 1752 chronogram.
