The Pauluskirche stands in Magdeburg’s Stadtfeld Ost district as an evangelical church shaped by late nineteenth-century growth. Heinrich Reinhardt and Georg Süßenguth designed the building. Built between 1894 and 1896, it presents a two-aisled hall church in the Neo-Gothic style. The exterior walls use Ummendorfer sandstone. The square tower rises to a slender octagonal spire and reaches sixty-five metres above the church. Granite columns support the interior gallery. The Rühlmann organ dates from 1896, while stained-glass windows bear the work of Ferdinand Müller. The sandstone recalls Magdeburg Cathedral through a historical material connection. A major restoration between 1997 and 2002 renewed the façade and interior in keeping with their historic appearance. The church is a protected monument within the Goethestraße monument area. Its architectural details connect local materials with Magdeburg’s older church heritage. Concerts, choirs, and community activities give the church a continuing communal role. Pauluskirche remains a place where architecture, music, and community life meet.
