Oelßners Hof stands in Leipzig’s city centre as a residential and commercial complex with a covered passage. Neo-baroque sandstone façades frame the street frontage, while wrought-iron gates open towards an angled courtyard. A double-storey glass bridge crosses the courtyard, beneath Schinkel-style lamps and beside plaster walls with pilasters.

The courtyard follows the former commercial character of Leipzig’s passageways and measures about sixty-six metres long. Max Pommer designed the present buildings, which rose in 1907 and 1908 for Wilhelm Oelßner’s fur-trade business. Leipzig’s 1943 bombing caused severe damage, while renovation between 2012 and 2015 adapted the complex for shops, restaurants, offices, apartments, and services.

Earlier, the property contained a theatre where Lessing’s Miss Sara Sampson was performed in 1756. Golden columns, natural-stone floors, and wall paintings now connect that layered history with everyday city life. A parking garage extends towards Brühl, linking the modern complex to the historic passage.
