Kletterturm Mockau rises in Leipzig as a climbing centre inside a former water tower built in 1907. The tower once supplied Alt Mockau with water. After enlargement in 1925, closure in 1977, and extensive renovation, climbing began here in 2004.

Three levels separate bouldering, beginner and recreational climbing, and demanding routes for experienced climbers. Indoor walls reach 30.5 metres above the floor. Across roughly 1,200 square metres, routes rise to 40 metres, while outdoor artificial rock adds 160 square metres.

An outdoor via ferrata added in 2018 forms a 90-metre loop, rising 30 metres and crossing the tower’s top. Cracks, ledges, and overhangs shape the artificial rock. Courses welcome beginners and children aged six to sixteen, while equipment hire, a shop, restaurant, and beer garden support longer visits.
