The Evangelisch-reformierte Kirche stands in Leipzig as a Protestant church with a richly decorated light-sandstone façade. Its two gables reveal the arrangement: the community house occupies the left side, while the church fills the right. A square bell tower rises about 67 metres, carrying an octagonal drum, copper spire and Huguenot cross.

Gerhard Weidenbach and Richard Tschammer designed the building, constructed between 1896 and 1899 as Leipzig’s first Renaissance-influenced religious building. Brick lies beneath the pale sandstone cladding. Inside, a white semicircular hall gathers wooden benches around the altar, with galleries, muted stained glass and a 1969 Jehmlich organ. The congregation traces its roots to Huguenot refugees from France and Swiss Protestants in Leipzig around 1700. Pierre Butini served as its first pastor.

In October 1989, journalists secretly filmed an anti-communist demonstration from the tower, and West German news broadcast the footage. Above the entrance, a chopped tree with young shoots accompanies the Latin motto Deus det incrementum.
