Parque Santa Catalina is a public park beside the Santa Catalina interchange, where city movement meets the coast. Playa de Las Canteras lies roughly five hundred metres away. This setting combines a transport hub, open civic space and a sandy shoreline within an easy urban walk. Seasonal events also occupy the space behind it. The nearby shore gives the park a clear connection to the sandy beach and the sea.

During the winter programme, the area behind the park becomes a holiday funfair with about thirty decorated wooden huts. The decorated huts sell crafts and gifts there. An ice rink, a concert stage and a small amusement park for children complete the arrangement. The programme adds winter colour beside the sea. The arrangement brings crafts, concerts, skating and children's entertainment into one public setting.

Outside the winter programme, this central public space remains closely linked to the interchange for meetings and events. Rows of wooden huts stand beside the ice rink.
