The Stadttheater in Landsberg am Lech is one of Bavaria’s oldest civic theatres with regular performances. Its theatre tradition reaches back to the seventeenth century.

Built in 1878 and renovated between 1992 and 1995, the building combines historic masonry with modern architecture. Large glass surfaces bring daylight into the foyer. The main auditorium extends across parquet seating, balconies, standing areas, wheelchair spaces, and a technically adaptable stage. The stage itself can open an orchestra pit. Hidden stage technology also transforms the foyer, while the gallery leads to Amphitreon, the outdoor theatre garden. The Amphitreon garden hosts theatre pieces and concerts outdoors.

The venue presents plays, concerts, readings, cabaret, children’s productions, and a film forum featuring classics, literary adaptations, and films about music and art. Junge Bühne welcomes young people backstage and onstage. Workshops there develop plays, props, costumes, and performances, giving Landsberg am Lech a flexible cultural meeting place. Selected rooms can also be rented for events.
