Münster Unserer Lieben Frau stands on Cathedral Hill in Constance, Baden-Württemberg, overlooking the historic city and Lake Constance. This Roman Catholic church combines Romanesque, Gothic, and neo-Gothic elements shaped by centuries of rebuilding. Inside, you can find the crypt, cloister, Mauritius Rotunda, side chapels, and a working organ.

A Marian church stood here by 615, while records from the eighth century mention the episcopal Ecclesia sanctae Mariae urbis Constantiae. Bishop Konrad commissioned the Mauritius Rotunda in 940, and Bishop Rumold led reconstruction after the cathedral collapsed in 1052. Sixteen monoliths once separated its three naves, while later builders added towers and Gothic details. The Council of Constance met here from 1414 to 1418, when Martin V became pope in 1417. Reformation-era iconoclasm removed artworks, while later centuries brought paintings, sculptures, ironwork, and a new organ.

The tower reaches 78 metres, with 193 steps leading to a viewing platform above Constance and the lake. Another 52 steps lead from there to the balconies, making the climb a vivid detail of this layered landmark.
