St. Bartholomäus is a Catholic parish church in Heidelberg’s Wieblingen district, with a concrete exterior built during the 1950s. Its preserved shell now surrounds a three-storey community centre, creating a house within a house.

A glass wall almost ten metres high separates the new structure from the church interior, while Emil Wachter’s stained-glass windows continue along the nave. The altar stands centrally on one step, with movable benches on three sides and a folded wall behind it displaying Otto Herbert Hajek’s cross and tabernacle. Gisela Bär’s Stations of the Cross and reliefs complete the reduced selection of artworks.

A freestanding campanile holds three bronze bells cast in Heidelberg in 1951, although its steel frame allows six. Their clear sound joins the bells of the nearby Protestant church in an ecumenical chime, while the adjoining kindergarten serves 85 children in four groups.
