St. Joseph is a Catholic parish church in Hanover’s List district, within the Diocese of Hildesheim. Maximilian Jagielski designed the church in decorative Neo-Gothic style. Roughly hewn ashlar and brick surfaces frame its basilica plan, spacious transept and ambulatory choir. A tall tower rises above ornamental gables and a high spire.

The church served growing Catholic communities in Hanover’s northeastern districts and suburbs during industrial expansion and canal construction. Air raids destroyed the roof and interior vaults. Reconstruction restored the original form, while the high altar, confessionals and some pews survived the destruction. Modern stained-glass windows brighten the restored church interior. A later interior renewal introduced a main altar, and comprehensive renovation added a smaller altar and baptismal font. Forum St. Joseph is a community centre with an integrated daycare. The centre was designed by the architectural firm Pape and Kost. The church has wheelchair access for visitors.
