Passage Kino Hamburg stands in the heart of Hamburg, where cinema history meets a preserved Art Deco interior. Marble, Persian carpets and fine woods recall its early twentieth-century design. Since 1913, this city-centre cinema has remained Hamburg’s oldest continuously operating cinema, linking daily screenings with a long local history. Three screening rooms shape the venue.

Saal 1 combines 380 seats with 4K, high-frame-rate projection and Dolby Digital 7.1 sound for large productions. Saal 2 and the Studio have 3D projectors. Current blockbusters share the programme with European productions, while special screenings bring music films, ballets, operas and concert films. Sneak previews add another strand.

Julius Cohn opened the building on 1 November 1913, with an orchestra accompanying silent films beneath its ornate decoration. British occupation forces seized it during the Second World War. After reopening in 1951, renovations in the 1960s and 1970s led towards the technology update completed in 2010. Heinz Lochmann invested 1.7 million euros in that modernisation.
