The Frohbotschaftskirche stands in Hamburg-Dulsberg as an Evangelical Lutheran church with wheelchair access for visitors. Its brick hall carries neoclassical touches and a gabled roof. The side tower rises beside it, while parabolic concrete pillars shape the interior’s original modern character.

Fritz Schumacher reserved the site in 1903, while Friedrich Dyrssen and Peter Averhoff designed the building between 1935 and 1937. Bombing in Hamburg destroyed much of it in 1943. Reconstruction restored the structure by 1953, adding a flat ceiling while retaining much of its earlier design. Otto Flath’s wooden altarpiece remains on the south side. A later renovation inserted two cubic structures for community rooms and a kindergarten, preserving the former choir as sacred space. The renovation finished in 2018 with a community centre and kindergarten.

The tower’s bells reflect wartime disruption, with replacements cast in 1958 after three originals were removed. The bells returned in 2018 and 2019. The original Wilhelm Sauer organ was replaced after wartime damage, then sold in 2015. Plans proposed another organ from a nearby church.
