Sankt Johannes stands in the center of a German village, with sturdy Seeberg sandstone walls and a weather-resistant slate roof. Its church body dates from around 1640. The tower preserves fourteenth-century stones and a narrow lookout passage above the bell chamber. Old stone gargoyles remain visible at its corners.

Inside, a wooden barrel vault carries vivid Jugendstil patterns painted in 1911, above simple wooden pews. A north gallery and an eighteenth-century pulpit shape the interior. Restoration work in 2008 uncovered a mural from the church’s building period beneath layers of paint. The mural shows David facing Goliath. The giant wears Thirty Years’ War clothing, while David holds a sling and harp.

Bronze bells were melted down during the First World War, leaving steel bells in the tower today. A plaque recalls Johann Hohner beside the side entrance. He was shot in 1945 after raising a white flag on the tower. Outside, ivy covers a war memorial with symbolic gravestones for villagers lost in the world wars.
