Wilhelm Löhe Geburtshaus stands in Fürth as a late-seventeenth-century Baroque house at a prominent street intersection. Its two-story sandstone walls rise beneath a mansard roof.

Built shortly after the Thirty Years’ War, the house passed to the Löhe family around 1800. During the twentieth century, a local bakery called Zur Gout’n Becki operated here until 1996. Traditional methods, original equipment and established recipes shaped the bakery’s work from its founding in 1888. After years of disrepair, new owners restored the building between 2008 and 2010. The work renewed the slate roof, windows and façade, reconstructed lost dormers, and refurbished a wooden balcony mentioned in Löhe’s memoirs.

The birth room now holds a memorial and museum dedicated to Wilhelm Löhe’s theology and social work. A wooden balcony and the former bakery’s preserved character connect the building’s domestic, religious and working history.
