Visionär is a steel sculpture by Rudolf Henninger in Fürth, Bavaria, near Südstadtpark. Its three-point-two-metre structure uses pipe sections, boilers, and industrial treads.

Its materials came from a dismantled power station. Henninger shaped the components through heating, bending, welding, and cutting before assembling the sculpture.

The work stands on Xylokastroplatz. This rectangular site measures thirty-two by one hundred metres and once belonged to a military barracks.

Visionär’s head weighs four hundred kilograms. Its two-point-three-metre head uses drive parts for eyes and a bent pipe section for its nose.

The face gives the sculpture an industrial character. Henninger worked as an architect before turning to art, and Visionär later joined Fürth’s public art initiative.

The sculpture faces west from its concrete base. Its route to Fürth followed an earlier loan offer to Erlangen and Siemens before the work found its place here.

The surrounding park and square connect the artwork with Fürth’s urban landscape. Visionär presents industrial remnants as a large, recognisable face beside Südstadtpark.
